If you’re like most patients who consult with me, you’ve had limited or no success in treating your condition…so you’ve either been referred to me by another patient, a doctor… or you’ve found me through an Internet search.
The purpose of our first visit is for me to start investigating
what is actually causing your problems, and to determine if it is likely
that any of my treatment methods will benefit you. I need to see if it
is appropriate to accept you as a patient.
We'll sit down together and get acquainted. I’ll view your
application to become a patient and I’ll get an opportunity to learn
about your pain and symptoms, and how they are affecting your quality of
life.
We'll need to find out:
What exactly is your problem… and is your diagnosis correct or complete? I do NOT consider fibromyalgia syndrome to be a final diagnosis. Do NOT expect me to talk about the diagnosis of fibromyalgia as if it is your identity.
It is not.
You are a human being who suffers from an array of symptoms that currently are classified as fibromyalgia. My focus will be solely on what is CAUSING these symptoms... and what can be done to treat YOU, not your diagnosis.
I'll tell you if we don’t have all the information we need. I've found that many prospective patients had been continuing to suffer—with prior treatments failing again and again, simply because they did NOT have a conclusive diagnosis. I cannot stress enough that while I accept fibromyalgia as a legitimate diagnosis... I do not accept it as a FINAL diagnosis. It is just a name for your symptoms... it's a starting point.I provide several types of treatment protocols, and we must figure out which (if any) would be likely successful for you.
When you and I meet, I’ll need you to do more than simply tell me where it hurts. It is your responsibility to make sure I understand everything you've been going through. I need to know how severe your condition is, as well as exactly how it has reduced your quality of life.
The examination procedures and testing will depend upon your medical history and condition, as well as specific requests you may make for evaluation. If you are interested specifically in a particular procedure, you may notify me or my staff in advance. If you are interested in Bio-energetic testing, you may request that in advance as well.
Expect a different type of evaluation. My methods of determining how to help you, as well as the treatment approaches themselves are unlike that of any facility. My care is not for everybody, and I recognize that no method is right for everybody. If you are looking for a conventional doctor, who uses the most popular treatments (the latest FDA approved drugs), you have come to the wrong place. That’s entirely up to you. If I DO accept you as a patient, I’ll be exclusively using non-drug, non-surgical treatments. The great news is that none of my treatments CONFLICT with those of any other physician. So you don't have to feel torn between "conventional" and "complementary and alternative" medicine.
Many, but not all treatments are covered, by most major medical insurance policies (such as Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Aetna, Mailhandlers, United Health Care, etc.) as well as worker's compensation and auto insurance (medpay). Medicare covers some services. Care is affordable to those without health insurance, high deductibles, and limited or no-coverage policies. Acupuncture and homeopathy services are not covered by any insurance.
